Plant Protection Equipments
The most commonly used sprayer which are available in the country for
the high volume spraying are viz. Bucket pump sprayer, stirrup pump
sprayers (single and double barrel), rocking sprayer, knapsack sprayer,
foot sprayer, wheel barrow sprayer, compression knapsack battery sprayerStorage
- The packages containing the insecticides shall be stored in
separate rooms or premises away from the rooms and premises used for
storing other articles particularly food articles or shall be kept in
separate almirahs under lock and key depending on the quantity and the
nature of the insecticide.
- The store rooms should be well built, well lit and well
ventilated and of sufficient dimentions. Thee condition of the store
should be dry and cool.
Disposal of Containers
- Packages or surplus material and washing from equipment and
containers should be disposed off in a safe manner so as to prevent
environmental and/or water pollution.
- The used packages shall not be left out side to prevent their reuse.
- The packages shall be broken and buried away from habitation.
Precautions by Users
- Avoid inhalation and skin contact while diluting because of spillages or splashes. Do not mix with bare hands.
- The users use full protective clothing which includes rubber
gloves, rubber boots, face should be covered with dust mask or
respirator and an overall or rubber apron hood or hat.
- Use in high concentrations with low and ultra low volume application equipment is dangerous and should be avoided.
Limitations and Cautions for Use
Do not use in those situations if there is possibility of harming bees and fish, livestock, game, wild birds and amimals.Symptoms of Poisoning
The early symptoms may be of any combination of headache, dizziness, vertigo, nausea, vomiting salivation.Frist Aid
Remove patient to fresh air. Induce vomiting with common salt in warm water. Wash contaminated skin with soap and water.Drug Therapy
- Atropinize the patient immediately and maintain full
atropinization by repeated doses of 2 to 4 mg at 5 to 10 minutes
interval for hours together. The need for the further atropine
administration is indicated by the continuance of symptoms.
- Administer 2 gm. of (2 PAM) 2-Pyridin-2-aldoxine-N-Methyl iodine
to be dissolved in 10 CC. distilled water and to be injected
intravenously slowly taking 10-15 minutes.
